    Description

This listing is for a Carnival Glass Polar Bear figurine made by Summit Art Glass. In the "Glass Animals of the Depression Era" book by Garmon and Spencer it states that Summit's Polar Bear is like Fostoria's #2531 bear, but with a round base instead of a square one. This bear is marked with a V in a circle which stands for the last name of the founders of Summit Art Glass, Russell and Joanne Vogelsong. It stands 4 1/4 inches tall. I shined a flashlight onto the base and as best as I can tell, the underlying glass is Amethyst. There is no damage to this piece and it has a lot of irridesence.
