RARE Dog Art Carved MARKED "MERLIN" SILVER TONE ~ POSSIBLY PEWTER, THIS HAS HAD THE SAME PATINA SINCE ACQUIRING IT DECADES AGO ~ Metal Medal / Brooch / Pin / Tie Tack in the shape of a Running Whippet Italian Greyhound or Greyhound Dog. EXQUISITE Detail for the Dog Lover!
Breed depicted is a Racing Greyhound / Whippet / Italian Greyhound. Likely one of the first two. Extremely finely detailed carved Unmarked Bronze tone METAL / MEDAL / BROOCH / LAPEL PIN. Items for either of these breeds are extremely difficult to find, this was acquired in the 1990s, and has just been hanging out ever since. I am currently downsizing, tooooooo many items here. To me, this is most clearly an ITALIAN GREYHOUND based on proportions, bone, etc...
Dimensions: 1.25" wide/long, 1.25" tall, locking mechanism on the back. Patina resembles pewter finish, not matte, but not polished, I have not used any cleaner on it, that is up to the new owner.
Sculpture of the dog is extremely finely detailed per breed standard, Extremely beautiful and well done, with important breed features present. Perfect condition. One only.
